Contract Type: Full time, 37.5 hrs per week, Term time only
Salary: SCP 24 – Actual £24,201.08 per annum
Responsible to: Work Experience Manager
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Employability and Work Experience Team, supporting students through their individual employment journeys while building strong partnerships with local employers and community organisations.
You will play a key role in developing work placement opportunities, supporting students in workplace settings, and helping them progress towards sustainable employment and greater independence.
The role combines employer engagement, student support, safeguarding responsibilities and administration, making it ideal for someone who is passionate about inclusive employment and person-centred practice.
Key Responsibilities
Student Support & Employability
- Support students to access meaningful work experience and supported employment opportunities.
- Act as a key worker, maintaining accurate student records and monitoring progress.
- Facilitate employability activities, Job Club sessions and career development opportunities.
- Support target setting, assessments and progress reviews.
- Provide personalised support for students accessing employment-related schemes, including Access to Work.
- Advocate for students by liaising with employers, families and external agencies.
- Promote independence, confidence, resilience and workplace skills.
Employer Engagement
- Develop and maintain partnerships with local employers.
- Identify, source and coordinate appropriate work placements.
- Conduct employer visits, workplace reviews and pre-placement assessments.
- Match students' skills, interests and aspirations with suitable opportunities.
- Provide guidance and ongoing support to employers throughout placements.
Health, Safety & Safeguarding
- Complete and maintain risk assessments and placement documentation.
- Carry out workplace checks to ensure safe, supportive and inclusive environments.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and report concerns appropriately.
- Work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead and wider safeguarding team.
- Support student well-being, welfare and positive outcomes.
Administration & Quality
- Maintain accurate student records, reports and online placement systems.
- Contribute to EHCP reviews, progress meetings and annual reports.
- Upload evidence relating to qualifications, targets and outcomes.
- Support destination tracking and progression monitoring.
- Assist with Ofsted inspections and quality assurance activities.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with young people or adults with learning disabilities and additional needs.
- Is passionate about supported employment, inclusion and person-centred practice.
- Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Can engage confidently with employers, families and external professionals.
- Is highly organised with strong administrative and record-keeping skills.
- Has experience of supporting learners towards education, training or employment outcomes.
- Demonstrates a good understanding of safeguarding and SEND.
- Can work independently while contributing positively to a wider team.
