Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored support to children and young people, encouraging their social, emotional, and developmental growth
- Build trusting relationships through mentoring, active listening, and positive reinforcement
- Assist with daily routines such as personal care, educational activities, and recreational outings
- Collaborate with families, educators, and other professionals to develop and implement support plans
- Support teaching activities by helping children engage in learning tasks and skill-building exercises
- Promote a safe environment by monitoring interactions and ensuring health and safety protocols are followed
- Encourage independence by guiding individuals through decision-making processes and life skills development
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people in a supportive or educational setting
- Strong mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others
- Knowledge of teaching methods suitable for diverse learning needs
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and team members
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to make a positive impact on others’ lives
- Ability to work flexibly across different shifts and adapt to changing needs
- Relevant qualifications or training in supporting children or social care are advantageous
