Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dispenser to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately preparing and dispensing medications, ensuring patient safety, and supporting overall pharmacy operations. Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense prescribed medications accurately in accordance with pharmacy protocols
- Assist pharmacists with medication administration and patient consultations when required
- Ensure all prescriptions are correctly labelled and documented, maintaining compliance with legal and safety standards
- Support patient care by providing clear information on medication usage, potential side effects, and storage instructions
- Maintain organised stock levels, check expiry dates, and report shortages or discrepancies promptly
- Follow strict hygiene and safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff
- Record all dispensing activities meticulously in the pharmacy management system
- Support the pharmacy team with administrative tasks as needed
Requirements
- Previous pharmacy experience is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient care practices
- Excellent organisational skills with keen attention to detail
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals
- Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- A recognised qualification in pharmacy services or relevant healthcare experience is preferred
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to legal regulations governing pharmacy practice
