Vehicle Technician
Location: Barnstaple, Devon
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday – Day Shift
Contract: Full-Time | Permanent
The Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced and motivated Vehicle Technician to join our established workshop team in Barnstaple, Devon. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician seeking a Monday-to-Friday position with no weekend work and strong earning potential.
The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, maintaining and repairing a range of vehicles to a high standard, ensuring safety, reliability and full compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing and scheduled maintenance
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment
- Conduct repairs to engines, transmissions, braking systems and suspension components
- Complete timing belts, clutches and other major repairs
- Perform vehicle health checks and identify additional work where required
- Ensure all work is completed efficiently and to manufacturer standards
- Maintain accurate job records and documentation
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times
Requirements
- Qualified Vehicle Technician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent preferred)
- Proven experience working in a busy workshop environment
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Good understanding of modern vehicle systems
- Full UK driving licence
