Ace Draincare & Groundworks Ltd is looking for an experienced groundworker to join our busy and growing team.
Applicants must have previous hands-on experience in both concrete finishing and drainage installation or repair. This is an experienced position and is not suitable for general labourers or trainees.
The work is varied and includes groundworks, drainage, concrete repairs, paving and reinstatement at domestic, commercial and housing association properties.
Main duties
- Preparing, shuttering, pouring, levelling, floating and finishing concrete
- Excavating and preparing sites for drainage and groundwork installations
- Installing and repairing underground drainage
- Repairing and replacing manholes and drainage chambers
- Laying paving and completing concrete, tarmac and other reinstatement
- Installing Key Clamp handrails where required
- Operating groundwork and drainage equipment safely
- Completing job sheets, photographs and other paperwork accurately
- Looking after the company vehicle, tools and equipment
Essential Requirements
- At least three years’ practical groundworks experience
- Proven experience floating and finishing concrete to a good standard
- Experience installing or repairing underground drainage
- Experience in excavation, paving and reinstatement
- Ability to complete work independently and to a high standard
- Full UK driving licence
- Reliable, punctual and comfortable dealing with customers
- Willingness to participate in a paid on-call rota covering some evenings and weekends
Applicants should ideally have no more than three current penalty points. Driving convictions and pending motoring offences must be disclosed, as employment is subject to a DVLA licence check and approval by our motor insurer.
