Duties
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils efficiently and thoroughly.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and organizing ingredients under supervision.
- Support the kitchen team in setting up workstations and ensuring all equipment is sanitized and ready for use.
- Help with waste disposal, recycling procedures, and keeping storage areas tidy and organized.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations by following proper hygiene practices at all times.
- Assist in restocking supplies and ingredients to ensure smooth kitchen operations throughout service periods.
- Support serving staff during busy periods by helping with tray setups or clearing tables as needed.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm to learn is key!
- Familiarity with food preparation techniques such as basic cooking skills or handling ingredients is advantageous.
- Experience in maintaining cleanliness standards within a commercial kitchen or similar setting is beneficial.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures related to food handling and hygiene practices is a plus.
- A proactive attitude with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
