We are currently seeking an experienced Asphalt Plant Manager to take overall responsibility for the safety and operational performance of our asphalt plant in Carlisle.

Line management of on-site Plant Supervisors, providing leadership, support, and clear direction
- Full responsibility for budgets and P&L management, including cost control and financial performance
- Month-end P&L reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Experience running projects, including planning, delivery, and performance monitoring
- Involvement in capital expenditure applications, justification, and delivery of approved projects
- Ensure all operations are run in line with HSEQ policies and guidance
- Strong focus on health, safety, and environmental compliance, promoting a positive safety culture
- Conduct regular 1-to-1 meetings, performance reviews, and development discussions
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and support to supervisory and operational teams
- Ensure production targets, quality standards, and customer requirements are consistently met
- Coordinate maintenance planning to ensure plant reliability and uptime
- Ensure adequate resourcing, shift cover, and operational continuity across both sites
- Liaise with senior management, internal stakeholders, and external contractors
- Drive continuous improvement, efficiency gains, and best practice across both operations
- Visually seen onsite, VFL's and interaction.

Previous experience operating an asphalt batching plant or working within a quarry/heavy industrial environment
- Good understanding of asphalt mix designs, material properties and quality control standards
- Ability to use computerised batching control systems and interpret production specifications. Basic mechanical knowledge with strong problem-solving skills
- Sound knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements
- Reliable, detail-oriented and able to work independently or as part of a team.
