Job Summary
Dr's McVerry, McGee & Farnon are seeking a professional and organised Medical Receptionists to join our healthcare team based in The Health Village in Newry.
The position is for 16 hours per week on a Monday and Thursday or Tuesday & Thursday 9am - 6pm.
The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role offers an opportunity to work in a supportive environment where attention to detail and compassion are highly valued.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression
- Manage appointment scheduling and cancellations using practice management software
- Answer phone calls promptly and professionally, directing enquiries appropriately
- Maintain accurate patient records and update information as needed
- Process patient check-ins and check-outs efficiently
- Handle correspondence, including emails and postal mail
- Ensure the reception area remains tidy, welcoming, and well-stocked with necessary supplies
- Support other administrative tasks as required to ensure smooth clinic operations

We have 2 positions available with hours ranging from 16 - 20 hrs per week. The hours of work are from 9am - 6pm.
The positions are initially for a fixed 9 month term covering maternity leave, however there are potential opportunities for a permanent contract for suitable candidates.

Qualifications
- Previous administrative experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for specific systems used in the practice
