Your Role in Transforming Lives
As a Children’s Registered Manager with Remarkable Outcomes, you will be the heart of one of our residential homes for young people with Emotional and Behavioural Disorders (EBD). Your leadership, compassion, and dedication will ensure that every child in your care feels valued, respected, and supported. You’ll lead a passionate team to create a joyful, nurturing, and safe home where children and employees can thrive and grow.
Your role is vital in ensuring our home meets and exceeds compliance with all statutory and regulatory guidelines while providing an environment that fosters love, learning, and empowerment. You’ll be responsible for everything from overseeing the day-to-day operations to ensuring that your team delivers outstanding care tailored to each child’s needs.
Job Responsibilities
Lead with Care and Compassion:
- Inspire and guide your team to create a warm, welcoming, and structured environment where children feel safe and cared for.
- Be a visible and hands-on leader, ensuring that your team provides exceptional care and emotional support for all the young people in the home.
- Build strong relationships with the children, fostering trust, respect, and a sense of belonging.
Provide Individual Care:
- Ensure each young person has a personalised care plan that addresses their specific needs, ambitions, and developmental goals.
- Support young people in their emotional, educational, and social growth, encouraging them to believe in themselves and achieve their goals.
- Create a home where children can flourish, no matter their background or challenges, promoting positive behaviours.
- Ensure children and staff teams utilise an effective and embedded elements of therapeutic input and support.
Ensure High Standards and Compliance:
- Ensure the home meets and exceeds all Ofsted requirements, working in line with Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
- Prioritise safeguarding and ensure that all staff are fully trained and confident in safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections, ensuring all operations are compliant with regulations and that the home provides a high-quality, safe environment.
Develop Your Team:
- Lead on recruitment for your home, delivering the best within safer recruitment practices.
- Provide ongoing supervision, mentoring, and support to your team, encouraging professional growth and fostering a culture of care and respect.
- Organise regular team meetings, reflective practices, and training sessions to ensure staff are equipped to deliver outstanding care.
- Promote a happy, positive work environment, where staff feel valued, supported, and empowered to make a difference.
Operational and Financial Leadership:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the home, including staff rotas, resource management, and compliance with policies.
- Manage the home’s budget effectively, ensuring resources are used efficiently to benefit the children and staff.
- Work collaboratively with external agencies, families, social workers, and education professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for each young person.
Who You Are:
Essential Skills and Experience:
- A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services, or an equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a children’s residential care setting, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience supporting children with EBD needs, and a strong understanding of their specific needs and challenges.
- A thorough knowledge of Ofsted regulations, Children’s Homes Regulations, and Quality Standards including Safeguarding and Child Protection.
- A passion for working with young people and helping them reach their potential.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, manage, and develop a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with children, staff, and external partners.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Valid UK driving license
Desirable Qualities:
- Experience of overseeing company and provision growth and overseeing regulatory inspection.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, true therapeutic approaches and its application in a residential setting.
- Experience working in partnership with education and training providers.
- A driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

Pay: From £55,000.00 per year
