Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team and deliver exceptional service across various locations. As a key player in our logistics operation, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy goods vehicles, primarily flatbed trucks, to transport goods efficiently and securely. Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including flatbed trucks, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Load and unload cargo with precision, ensuring items are secured properly on flatbeds for transit
- Plan efficient routes to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel consumption and driving time
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and records of all trips undertaken
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery statuses or any issues encountered during transit
- Follow all health and safety procedures to protect yourself, colleagues, and the cargo during every journey
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver with a valid HGV Class 1 license (C+E)
- Prior delivery driver experience, particularly with flatbed transportation, is highly desirable
- Demonstrated knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for heavy vehicle operation
- Experience handling various types of cargo, including securing loads on flatbeds safely and efficiently
- Ability to navigate using GPS or traditional maps confidently and plan optimal routes for timely deliveries
