Casual Gallery Assistant
The role of the Gallery Assistant is to invigilate the gallery spaces and any off-site exhibition spaces, providing a warm welcome to all visitors and ensuring their safety. Meeting the gallery’s needs to staff events such as season openings, patron tours, public program events, commercial hires and workshops. This role is vital in supporting the safe and harmonious interaction between audiences and artworks. This means working to support visitors, audiences, the local community and key Gallery stakeholders. Working hours will vary and Gallery Assistants may be offered work on any day of the week including Saturdays, Sundays, evenings and bank holidays. The services provided to the Gallery are casual basis for an hourly rate.
Conditions of work:
Contract: Casual zero-hours contract
Rate of pay: £16.59 per hour (£14.80 plus £1.79 holiday pay)
Holiday pay is included within the hourly rate and will be itemised separately on each payslip in line with current legislation.
Where no shifts have been worked or accepted for a period of three months, the organisation may assume that you no longer wish to remain on the casual worker list and may cease offering you further assignments.
