Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Worker to join our team within a reputable care home environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for providing high-quality care to our residents. This role offers an opportunity to supervise and support a team of care staff, ensuring the delivery of personalised care plans that meet individual needs. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation requirements, and prior experience in senior care and supervising roles is essential. The Senior Care Worker will play a vital part in maintaining a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment for all residents.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of care workers, ensuring the delivery of compassionate and professional care at all times
- Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, medication management, and meal preparation
- Develop, review, and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with residents and their families
- Monitor residents’ wellbeing and report any changes or concerns to relevant healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with legal and organisational standards
- Support residents’ emotional and social needs through meaningful engagement and activities
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care home setting
- Facilitate effective communication between residents, families, healthcare providers, and team members
- Assist with administrative tasks using IT systems to update records and manage schedules as required
Experience
- Proven experience working within a care home environment specialising in senior care
- Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare or social care setting
- Knowledge of developing and managing care plans tailored to individual needs
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Competent IT skills for record keeping and administrative duties
- Driving experience with a valid driving licence is advantageous but not mandatory
- Familiarity with safeguarding procedures and health & safety regulations in a care setting
