Two Routes into Intervention Work at Phoenix
We recognise that people can bring different levels of experience and skills to intervention work. For this reason, we are offering two entry routes into the Intervention Officer role at Phoenix.
Experienced Intervention Officer – £28,896.43 per annum
This salary is offered to successful applicants who can demonstrate significant and relevant experience of delivering or supporting behaviour change interventions and working directly with individuals who display harmful or abusive behaviours within intimate or family relationships.
Developing Intervention Officer – £24,500 per annum
We also welcome applications from individuals who may not yet have direct experience of perpetrator or behaviour change work but who have strong transferable skills and the potential to develop within the role. You may have experience in another area where you have developed skills in engaging people, building professional relationships, having challenging conversations, motivating change, maintaining appropriate boundaries and working with individuals who may be reluctant to engage.
Successful applicants joining through this route will be supported to develop their knowledge, skills and experience in intervention work as part of their role at Phoenix.
Additional Evening Work Allowance
Both entry routes attract an additional £1,200 per annum allowance for officers who are required to regularly deliver intervention groups outside of normal working hours.
The same commitment to safe, accountable and effective practice is expected across both routes. The difference is the level of relevant experience and development required when joining the service.
Job Purpose:
The role will involve working with individuals who display harmful behaviour in the context of domestic abuse of all genders and will require the postholder to maintain a clear focus on accountability, responsibility for behaviour and the impact of domestic abuse on partners, children, and others.
The Intervention Officer will provide assessment and behavioural change interventions to individuals who have used domestic abuse and harmful behaviours.
The postholder will deliver the Phoenix DAS Intervention Programme, in a group and 1:2:1 setting, and will contribute to the ongoing development and quality assurance of the programme.
The role will involve working with individuals to increase their understanding of unhealthy behaviours, recognise the impact of their behaviour on others, develop insights and take responsibility for making sustainable changes.
Pay: £24,500.00-£28,896.00 per year
