I am an ambitious, fun-loving, enthusiastic graduate embarking on my second secondment as a Senior Executive Officer / Grade 7 of the Civil Service Government Policy Fast Stream. Cerebral Palsy has provided me with a unique perspective of the world and it is through my nine years of both national and international public speaking pursuits, and volunteering activism work, that I am committed to a career in seeking social change via public service - particularly through the policy profession.
Despite the obvious physical hurdles that Cerebral Palsy brings, I am a double award-winning, first-class post-graduate who requires the professional and personal support to achieve my career aspirations within policies, politics, and public service. This role will entail accompanying me during my second secondment to enable this to become a reality. Due to also being diagnosed with severe Dyslexia you will be required to accompany me to meetings, acting as my notetaker, reader, and scribe. Additionally, you will be required to support me being accountable for attending meetings, time management and deadlines. Although you don’t have to be a ‘tutor’, it would be beneficial if you have experience or the mindset of tutoring/mentoring with written, work-related documents (e.g. tutoring University students). You will be acting as a representative for my professional career. Therefore, you will have to abide by both mine and the Civil Service’s code of conduct and expectations. To overcome the physical hurdles aforementioned, I am able to walk with assistance and use a small, manual wheelchair for longer excursions.
My Fast Stream Journey is being undertaken in a part-time capacity, enabling the pursuit of other passions. Alongside my departmental commitments, I am undertaking a King’s College London Diploma as part of the policy profession. This unique and exciting opportunity enables you to gain both academic and professional first-hand experience in and insights into government policy, life in the Civil Service and, more broadly, the governance of the UK. But beyond the new insights you will gain, the premise of this position is to facilitate me in participating on the Fast Stream. Therefore, my employment and career progression must always be at the forefront of your work.
Although you will be employed by myself, this role will require you to meet Civil Service Security Clearance to the level required by my secondment role.

- Ability to ‘teach’ and/or act as a mentor/tutor.
