Salford Van Hire Limited are one of the country’s leading vehicle rental and contract hire companies who have been trading for 60 years and due to ever increasing workloads and expanding our workforce we are looking to recruit a Garage / Workshop Office Administrator
This role is based in our high energy garage office at our Head Office on Sherborne Street, Manchester.
Duties for this role include;
· Maintaining good customer relationships through receiving and processing customer issues they have with vehicles
· Answering customer, supplier and internal queries on vehicle maintenance activities
· Arranging MOT tests for both our own vehicles and for customers’ vehicles working to legal and planned dates
· Liaising with external agents to deal with vehicle faults, maintenance and deliveries and dealing with difficult situations with dealers regarding their progress
· Progressing and reporting on vehicle maintenance activities and processing yard lists and providing service requirements et cetera to garage supervisors
· Planning maintenance regimes in line with legislative, customer and organisational requirements and chasing compliance paperwork from dealers and forwarding to customers
· Helping enable the safe operation of the garage through efficient organising and providing support to the team whenever required
· Reacting quickly, calmly and efficiently to resolve unexpected issues and dealing in a professional way with customers’ vehicle breakdowns
· Carrying out day-to-day tasks, administration, data input, scanning and ad-hoc projects
· Day to day monitoring and reporting on supplier relationships and providing up to date vehicle ready lists to supervisors, other departments and management
The right candidate should have knowledge of vehicle maintenance, an aptitude for planning with proven experience of successful complex operational planning and strong organisational and negotiating skills. They should have the ability to deal with multiple persons at once (e.g. suppliers, customers, mechanics, other members of staff) without losing focus. A proactive person with a positive attitude and good attention to detail who can remain calm and professional in any situation is required for this role. Solid communication skills, both written and verbal, are important and previous experience of vehicle maintenance roles would be beneficial but not essential. Health & Safety training and/or First Aid Training would be desirable.
Hours; Monday – Friday; 8am to 6pm. Some weekend cover will be expected throughout the year.
Salary; circa £30,000 per annum, but this can be discussed at interview based on experience, knowledge and qualifications
