Samac Fixings Ltd is a leading national distributor of fixings based in the Wickford, Essex area. Established in 2004 we supply a comprehensive range of nails, screws and associated products to the building, timber & fencing merchants across the UK.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Reading and marking picking lists
- Frequent use of a counterbalance forklift
- Locating stock using location codes
- Warehouse maintenance (ensuring clear stock locations and a tidy warehouse)
- Replenishing Stock (using a pump truck)
- Regularly picking and carrying heavy products (up to 25kg)
- Labelling products
- Packing and palletising various jobs ready for dispatch.
- Communicating with other departments.
- Identifying location errors.
- Stripping pallets.
- Unloading containers
- Other ad-hoc warehouse duties.
Knowledge & Skills will include:
- Counterbalance Forklift Licence. (Not in house)
- Full drivers licence & own vehicle (Due to location)
- Good communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Prioritization of workload
- Access to mobile phone applications for time keeping.
- Must be able to routinely lift boxes up to 25kg.
- Must be comfortable using a ladder.
- Basic knowledge of Health & Safety.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be a trustworthy, reliable, team player.
- Candidates will ideally have previous warehouse experience, applicants will be expected to lift heavy materials daily and be reliable, flexible & trustworthy.
