The Vacancy
Want to help build incredible theatre sets seen by thousands of people across the world?
Think you’ve got practical skills, creativity, or a love of making things? Whether you're just starting out or already have workshop experience, we'd love to hear from you.
Our talented Construction team builds world-class scenery for Theatre Royal Plymouth productions and commercial clients. From large-scale touring sets to bespoke exhibition pieces and artistic installations, every project is different. We work mainly with wood and metal but we also use wide range of other materials, to bring designs to life and our scenic artists give every build a stunning finish.
You don’t need to know everything on day one. If you’re practical, curious, enjoy learning new skills, and like solving problems, you’ll fit right in. No two days are the same. You'll work alongside skilled makers, scenic artists, managers and designers, combining creativity, craftsmanship and teamwork to turn ambitious ideas into reality.
