Night Porter – Bingham Townhouse
Hours: 11:00pm–7:15am
The Night Porter is responsible for the safe, secure and efficient operation of the hotel overnight, ensuring the property is prepared to a high standard for guests and the breakfast team each morning.
Key Responsibilities
● Receive a full handover and check Slack, WhatsApp, guest requests, late arrivals, taxis and returning guests.
● Reconcile hotel and breakfast registers with FreetoBook and complete end-of-day procedures.
● Conduct security patrols, complete fire-safety checks, secure entrances and remain available to assist guests throughout the night.
● Maintain cleanliness and presentation across the restaurant, bar, kitchen, toilets and other operational areas.
● Complete scheduled overnight cleaning, including kitchen surfaces, floors, equipment and laundry areas.
● Process laundry including napkins, towels, kitchen cloths and other designated items.
● Manage recycling, rubbish and cardboard appropriately.
● Replenish restaurant and breakfast stocks including napkins, cutlery, drinks, condiments and cleaning supplies.
● Record fridge and freezer temperatures.
● Prepare the restaurant for breakfast, including setting tables and polishing cutlery.
● Prepare breakfast items, chilled products, fruit salad, coffee equipment and chef workstations.
● Inform the Breakfast Chef of guest numbers, dietary requirements and special requests.
● Complete a clear handover to the Morning Duty Manager and report any unfinished tasks.
Person Specification
Reliable, trustworthy and comfortable working independently overnight. The successful candidate will be organised, practical, guest-focused and able to maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, security and attention to detail.
Pay: £14.37 per hour
