A leading space technology organisation is looking to add a Quality Assurance Engineer to their growing UK Space team. Chroma are supporting the search to help meet increasing demand across satellite communications, space sensors, robotics and advanced aerospace programmes.
This role offers the opportunity to play a key role in ensuring products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability throughout the entire development lifecycle. It's an excellent opportunity for a Quality Assurance Engineer who enjoys working across engineering, manufacturing and supply chain functions while driving continuous improvement within a highly regulated environment.
Quality Assurance Engineer Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Electronics or a related discipline
- 10+ years' experience in quality assurance within the space, aerospace, electronics, automotive or other high-reliability manufacturing sectors
- Experience supporting the design, manufacture, test, qualification and delivery of complex products
- Strong understanding of quality assurance activities throughout the product development lifecycle
- Experience with quality management systems, supplier quality and audit processes
- Proven experience investigating failures using recognised quality tools and methodologies
- Experience developing and managing quality metrics and operational KPIs
- Strong understanding of continuous improvement methodologies
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills
The following experience would be beneficial:
- Knowledge of ECSS, NASA, EASA, IPC, JEDEC or MIL standards
- Experience with electronics and optical systems
- Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools
- Satellite payload, robotics or optical subsystem experience
- Electronic component manufacturing and PCB production
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including soldering, coating, adhesive bonding and harness fabrication
- Experience working within complex aerospace or space supply chains
This is a fully on-site position offering the opportunity to work on highly innovative space programmes within a collaborative and technically advanced engineering environment. The role may also require occasional national and international travel.
