Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that all kitchen operations run smoothly by handling cleaning duties, assisting with basic food preparation, and supporting the overall hospitality experience. Duties
- Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to uphold hygiene standards
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen supervisors
- Supporting the organisation and cleanliness of kitchen work areas and storage spaces
- Ensuring all equipment is clean, well-maintained, and stored correctly after use
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Supporting the team during busy service periods by providing general assistance as needed
- Maintaining a professional attitude whilst adhering to health and safety protocols at all times
Skills
- Experience or interest in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality environments is desirable
- Previous restaurant, hotel, or culinary experience is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within the kitchen setting
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards learning new skills
