Overview
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to join our dedicated childcare team. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting children’s learning and development within a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework for children aged birth to five years.
- Support and supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, mealtimes, and rest periods, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and engagement at all times.
- Build positive and professional relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to support effective communication and partnership working.
- Observe, assess, and record children’s progress and developmental milestones in accordance with statutory and nursery requirements.
- Implement daily routines that encourage independence, confidence, and social development.
- Adhere to and promote nursery policies and procedures, particularly in relation to safeguarding, health and safety, and equality.
- Contribute to nursery events, parent engagement activities, and wider community initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with the management team and colleagues to continuously enhance the quality of the setting and curriculum provision.
Person Specification
- Relevant and recognised childcare qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 in Early Years/Childcare or equivalent).
- Previous experience working within a nursery or early years setting.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the EYFS statutory framework and safeguarding requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and use initiative when required.
- A caring attitude combined with organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently. This role provides an enriching environment for those committed to nurturing young children’s growth while developing their professional skills within a supportive team.
