Guest Welcome & Maintenance Assistant (Narrowboat Holiday Accommodation)

**Pay:** £15.00 per hour
**Hours:** As required, including weekends. Additional paid hours available for maintenance work.
## About the Role
We are looking for a friendly, reliable and practical individual to welcome guests staying on our narrowboat holiday accommodation. This is a customer-facing role where you'll help ensure guests have a safe, enjoyable and memorable stay from arrival through to departure.
The ideal candidate will be approachable, organised and confident communicating with people. An ability to carry out basic maintenance tasks would be an advantage, with additional paid hours available for maintenance duties.
## Key Responsibilities
* Meet and greet guests on arrival.
* Welcome guests and provide a full tour of the narrowboat and its facilities.
* Explain how everything works on board, including heating, appliances and onboard equipment.
* Deliver a comprehensive health and safety briefing, ensuring guests understand how to use the boat safely and responsibly.
* Be the first point of contact for guests throughout their stay, responding to questions or issues by phone.
* Maintain regular communication with guests where required to ensure they have everything they need.
* Report any maintenance issues or damage promptly.
* Carry out basic maintenance tasks and minor repairs where appropriate (desirable).
* Help prepare the boat between guest stays to ensure it is presented to a high standard.
## Skills & Experience
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* Friendly, welcoming and professional manner.
* Reliable, trustworthy and able to work independently.
* Good problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
* Basic DIY or maintenance skills are desirable but not essential.
* An interest in boating or previous experience with narrowboats would be an advantage, although full training can be provided.
