About the Role
Unity Investment Group has two full-time positions available within its established night operations team.
We are seeking two Night CCTV & Front Door Security Officers to join our 24-hour operation at Unity Investment Group’s flagship 16-bed HMO in Fairfield.
This is an important dual-role position combining live CCTV monitoring across the wider Unity portfolio with front door access control and on-site property security.
Unity Investment Group operates an evidence-led HMO management model. Overnight CCTV monitoring is a key part of how the business protects residents, supports investigations, responds to incidents, assists emergency services where required, and helps the wider operations team manage a large and complex property portfolio.
The successful candidates will need to be strong characters, alert, professional, confident using computers, and able to work calmly and responsibly during night shifts. This role requires good judgement, strong observation skills and the ability to report information clearly and factually.
Main Purpose of the Role
The main purpose of the role is to support the safety, security and stability of Unity Investment Group’s flagship HMO and wider property portfolio during overnight hours.
The role has two key parts:
- Monitoring CCTV across approximately 70 properties across the Unity portfolio.
- Managing front door access, on-site security and overnight presence at the flagship property.
The role is essential to the overnight operation of the business and supports a safe, structured and evidence-led approach to managing incidents, safeguarding concerns, access control and resident safety.
Key Responsibilities
1. CCTV Monitoring and Incident Support
The role will involve monitoring CCTV across approximately 70 properties across the Unity portfolio during the night.
Responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring live CCTV across multiple properties.
- Remaining alert to incidents, unusual activity, unauthorised access, visitor patterns, property damage or safety concerns.
- Supporting live incident response through CCTV observation.
- Reviewing CCTV footage where required to support investigations.
- Assisting with evidence gathering following incidents.
- Recording clear, factual observations in shift notes and incident reports.
- Liaising with the HMO Operations Manager and wider operations team.
- Escalating urgent concerns in line with company procedures.
- Supporting emergency service responses where required.
- Identifying and reporting safeguarding, welfare, fire safety or security concerns.
- Supporting the development of CCTV processes, monitoring standards and overnight reporting.
- Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately.
This part of the role is central to Unity Investment Group’s evidence-led operating model.
2. Front Door Access Control and On-Site Security
The role also includes front door access control and on-site property security at Unity Investment Group’s flagship HMO.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing access in and out of the property overnight.
- Being present and available at the front door when residents enter or leave.
- Monitoring who is attending the building.
- Preventing unauthorised access where appropriate.
- Supporting a calm, safe and respectful environment within the property.
- Understanding who lives at the property and being alert to unusual activity.
- Responding appropriately to resident concerns, incidents or emergencies.
- Reporting property security, maintenance, welfare or safety concerns.
- Supporting the wider 24-hour team on site.
- Working with colleagues across the business where support is required across the wider portfolio.
The role requires professionalism, consistency and the ability to manage access without unnecessary confrontation.
Working Environment
Unity Investment Group works with residents who may have experienced homelessness, trauma, offending history, substance misuse, mental health challenges or other complex needs.
The successful candidates must be able to work respectfully and professionally in this environment. They should be able to remain calm, follow procedures, avoid confrontation where possible, and escalate concerns appropriately.
Experience working within homelessness, supported housing, probation, Ministry of Justice environments or complex-needs accommodation would be highly desirable.
Essential Requirements

- A valid SIA Door Supervisor licence.
- Strong computer skills and confidence using digital systems.

Desirable Experience and Qualifications
The following would be desirable:
- SIA CCTV / Public Space Surveillance qualification.
- Previous experience monitoring CCTV in a professional setting.
- Experience using Hik-Connect or similar CCTV platforms.
- Experience working with CCTV across multiple properties or sites.
- Experience programming CCTV alarms, motion detection or system settings.
- Experience working in HMO, supported housing, homelessness, residential security or complex-needs accommodation.
- Experience working with people connected to the Ministry of Justice, probation services or criminal justice system.
- Experience working with vulnerable adults.
- Safeguarding awareness or safeguarding training.
- Trauma-informed practice training or experience.
- Experience supporting emergency service responses.
- Experience working within a 24-hour operational team.
- Experience producing incident reports or investigation notes.
