Job Summary
We are seeking dedicated and proactive Medical Responders (FREC 3 or FREC 4), Emergency Care Assistants, Emergency Medical Technicians, Nurses, Paramedics and Student Healthcare Professionals to join our event medical team. In this role, you will provide professional medical support at a variety of events across the North East and further afield, responding to medical incidents, assessing patients and providing appropriate care within your level of qualification and scope of practice. This is a paid, event-based position offering the opportunity to work in a varied environment, develop your experience and make a positive difference to patient care.
Duties
Duties will vary depending on your role, qualifications, experience and scope of practice, and may include:
- Respond promptly to medical incidents and provide appropriate first aid and emergency care
- Assess patients and carry out appropriate clinical observations
- Provide basic or advanced life support in accordance with your level of training
- Treat and manage patients within your individual scope of practice
- Conduct appropriate triage and prioritise patient care where required
- Recognise deteriorating patients and escalate care appropriately
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, event organisers and emergency services
- Assist with the safe movement and transportation of patients when required
- Complete accurate patient records and relevant documentation
- Maintain medical equipment and ensure treatment areas are kept ready for use
- Maintain patient dignity, confidentiality and professional standards at all times
- Work effectively as part of a wider event medical and emergency response team
Experience
- Current and relevant qualification appropriate to the role being undertaken
- FREC 3 or FREC 4, ECA, Technician, Nursing or Paramedic qualifications welcomed
- Student Paramedics are welcome to apply for First Responder positions
- Previous experience in emergency care, healthcare, pre-hospital care or event medicine is desirable
- Good understanding of clinical practice and working within your scope of practice
- Ability to remain calm and professional in busy or challenging environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, professional and committed approach to patient care
- Physically capable of prolonged periods of standing and assisting with patient movement when required

Requirements
- Full UK manual driving licence, held for 2+ years
- Aged 21 or over with no more than 6 points on your licence
- Relevant qualifications required for your role
- Full Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (can be arranged at a cost if required)
- C1 driving licence – desirable
- CERAD or equivalent – desirable
Pay: £13.10-£26.25 per hour
