Job Summary
Join our vibrant café team as an experienced Barista / Cafe Team Member and be the heart of a lively, welcoming environment! The role is based on a minimum of 15 hours per week, Saturdays will form part of the work schedule.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea, and specialty beverages with precision and care
- Greet customers warmly, take their orders accurately, and provide friendly, efficient service
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation stations and seating areas
- Follow food safety standards diligently to ensure all products are handled and stored properly
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches and light lunches as needed
- Manage cash register transactions accurately using basic math skills, including handling payments and giving change
- Prioritize time management to serve customers promptly during busy periods while maintaining quality standards
Qualifications
- Previous barista experience is preferred; enthusiasm is essential
- Knowledge of food safety practices and standards is highly desirable
- Experience in serving customers in fast-paced environments demonstrates strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform basic math calculations confidently for cash handling and transactions
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours
- Willingness to follow health guidelines and safety procedures diligently
- A positive attitude, reliability, and eagerness to contribute to a team-oriented environment
