Key Requirements:
- Managing a varied caseload of general litigation matters, pre and post issue of proceedings (under supervision), to include, but not limited to contract disputes, debt recover, landlord and tenant matters, bankruptcy/insolvency and personal injury
- Handling cases from initial instruction to resolution, following established office procedures.
- Conducting litigation including, but not limited to, drafting statements of case, disclosure lists, witness statements, application notices, court orders and instructions to counsel and experts.
- Preparing and maintaining accurate documentation and records.
- Billing files and ensuring timely receipt of payments.
- Responding to client enquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Supporting senior fee earners on high-value, multi-track and complex litigation as required
- Engagement in new business development activities, with support of senior team members.
What we’re looking for:
- 2 to 4 years’ PQE (experience of personal injury is desirable, but not essential)
- Proven experience of litigation (including advocacy at interim hearings)
- A collaborative team player with the ability to mentor and support junior colleagues, but also able to work independently
- Methodical and pragmatic approach to managing a varied caseload
- Commercial awareness and the ability to provide practical, solutions-focused advice
- Technically competent
The successful candidate will form part of an established and successful team, comprised of fee earners of all grades. Within the team, you will have responsibility for your own matters, as well as supervising others, and supporting more experienced fee earners. Your cases will be a mix of pre and post issue claims, which in most instances, you will have full conduct of from start to finish, allowing you to implement your own experience and strategies (subject to supervision).
