CLdN Ports wish to recruit Port Operatives to work within the Yard department of our busy and expanding Ro-Ro Terminal. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and have a flexible, professional and pro-active approach to work.
Your role
- Driving / operating RTG cranes, reachstackers, tugmasters, translifters and forklifts.
- Loading and unloading third- party transport.
- Additional duties, including pinning and shunting.
Your profile
- You will have experience in a similar role, the ability to work a 24hr shift pattern.
- It is important that you have knowledge of Port Operations.
- Experience of driving large vehicles and operating heavy plant and machinery.
- It is essential you have a pro-active approach and knowledge of Health and Safety.
- Reachstacker experience is desirable as well as experience in operating tugmasters, translifters and forklifts.
- You will have good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good IT skills are desirable for use of in-house/ on-board Freight Management Systems.
- You must be a self-motivated individual.
- Ability to prioritise workload whilst working to tight timescales in accordance with company policies.
- You must be able to work within a team.
- A flexible approach to work is necessary as you will be expected to cover when required.
- You must be willing to undertake any duties that may arise to contribute to the day-to-day running of the terminal, which can include site maintenance / cleaning.
- You must also be willing to work to a flexible timetable to meet the changing patterns of work, which could include working at other CLdN Ports within the UK and Europe.
