About the role
Source Supply are seeking to appoint a dedicated, compassionate, and highly motivated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive primary school team. This rewarding role involves providing individualised 1:1 support for a child with additional needs, enabling them to access learning, develop independence, and achieve their full potential within a mainstream educational setting. The successful candidate will have experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and will demonstrate excellent behaviour management skills, alongside the ability to remain calm, patient, and nurturing in a range of situations. They will be skilled in building positive and trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families and will work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and other professionals to implement strategies that support the child’s academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development. We are looking for an individual who is resilient, adaptable, and committed to providing high-quality support, creating a positive learning environment, and ensuring that every child is encouraged, valued, and empowered to succeed.
Requirements
Salary is dependent on experience, qualifications and training. All successful applicants will:
- Experience in working with children in a school or specialist setting
- A nurturing, patient and consistent approach
- Have referenceable experience working in a school setting.
- Be passionate about education, with a desire to help young people thrive.
- Be an excellent communicator with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Ideally hold a full, clean driving licence and have access to vehicle.
