Role Overview:
We are currently seeking a kind, reliable, and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to support our daily meal service. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a kitchen environment, has a heart for helping others, and takes pride in contributing to a caring, community-based setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and serving of nutritious meals.
- Support with kitchen tasks such as chopping, plating, and portioning food.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen and dining area.
- Wash up dishes and clean kitchen equipment after meal service.
- Ensure food hygiene and safety standards are followed at all times.
- Help create a positive dining experience for our members by being approachable, attentive, and respectful.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Some experience in a kitchen or catering environment is desirable but not essential—training can be provided.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- Basic understanding of food hygiene and willingness to complete food safety training if required.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently when needed.
- A compassionate and respectful approach to working with individuals living with dementia.
