Zazu's Pub Co. is looking for a motivated sous chef to join their team at the Greenbank pub in Easton.
The Greenbank is a bustling community pub in the heart of Easton, serving a varied menu of elevated pub grub, pizzas and small plates as well as a regular rotation of seasonal specials. We are well known in the area for our quality menu, locally produced drinks and welcoming, friendly atmosphere.
The Greenbank boasts an upstairs function room which hosts a variety of public and private events, as well as a gallery of art from local artists and regular live music. We're looking for a new member of the team to jump into busy service and join our family!
What we can offer...
- Popular and newly refurbished venue serving vibrant, seasonal food as well as catering to many in-house events.
- Creative freedom, working with the Head Chef to create seasonal and 'on trend' menus and daily specials.
- Working with a supportive and experienced management team, as well as joining a working family who really care about their colleagues and fostering a good working environment.
- A competitive rate of pay plus an achievable performance based bonus scheme of up to 3k per year (pro rata). All tips shared fairly amongst staff (tronc) as well as a company pension scheme.
- Company-wide discount scheme across our 5 pubs, plus on shift meals. Regular staff socials as well as a big staff Christmas party with all our employees!
- Transferrable FSA recognised qualifications in Food Safety and Health and Safety, with company progression opportunities within our independent group.
We ask that you...
- Demonstrate excellent kitchen and communication skills, with a strong attention to detail. Work under pressure with a small team with the desire to motivate, teach and support progression.
- Promote good working relationships between team members to create a happy working environment.
- Have a passion for fresh food. A proven ability to cook modern, seasonal pub food is essential, as well as inspiration to add new and current dishes to the menu in line with the pub’s style.
- Have a good knowledge of seasonal produce and creativity to create daily/weekly specials. Understanding the customers needs and being able to adapt with trends.
- Build on current trade levels whilst maintaining company standards and expectations. Maintaining food GPs across all aspects of the food side of the business is essential. Working with the Head Chef to manage staffing costs and to achieve the weekly KPIs.
- Have an understanding of and proven experience in managing all levels of Health & Safety compliance within a kitchen. Training will be provided on the use of our in-house system. Level 3 Food Safety certificate desired but not essential.
- Good office and admin organisational skills would be an added bonus!
