Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Barista/Manager to lead our vibrant café team. This role combines expert coffee and food preparation with team leadership, ensuring exceptional customer service and operational excellence. The successful candidate will possess a passion for hospitality, culinary skills, and proven supervisory experience. As a key figure in our establishment, you will oversee daily operations, maintain high standards of food safety and quality, and foster a welcoming environment for both staff and customers.
Duties
- Lead and motivate the café team to deliver outstanding service and product quality.
- Oversee all aspects of daily café operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Manage food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence.
- Supervise staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations to optimise team efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Assist in food production tasks such as preparing beverages, snacks, and light meals as required.
- Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage inventory to prevent shortages or wastage.
- Handle customer enquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure a positive dining experience.
- Implement promotional activities to enhance customer engagement and sales.
- Maintain a professional appearance and uphold the establishment’s brand standards at all times.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality roles within a café or restaurant setting.
- Demonstrable supervising experience with team management skills.
- Strong background in food safety standards and food production processes.
- Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff effectively.
- Knowledge of café operations, barista skills, serving techniques, and hospitality best practices.
- Experience in managing kitchen or restaurant teams is highly desirable.
- Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail.
- Friendly demeanour with excellent communication skills.
- Relevant culinary or hospitality qualifications are advantageous but not essential; a passion for the industry is key.
