Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care to individuals in our residential care homes. The role involves supporting young adults with learning disabilities, with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence. Candidates should have a genuine interest in caring for others and possess relevant experience in supporting young people. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care routines, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medication as authorised and trained to do so
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
- Engage clients in social activities and behavioural management strategies to promote well-being
- Provide emotional support and companionship to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in client condition
- Assist with housekeeping tasks to ensure a clean and safe environment
- Drive clients to appointments or outings when necessary, subject to driving licence requirements
- Respond promptly to emergencies using first aid skills when required
Experience
Candidates should ideally have prior experience in caregiving roles. Additional skills that are beneficial include:
- Caregiving for vulnerable adults or children
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols
- Skills in behaviour management and patient care techniques
- First aid certification and driving experience are advantageous but not mandatory
