Early Years Sports Coach (Part-Time)
Salary: £22.00–£25.00 per hour (depending on experience)
SportsCool Dartford is looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and passionate Early Years Sports Coach to help launch and develop our exciting nursery programme from September 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing coaching company and become part of a brand-new area of our business. As our nursery provision expands, there will be opportunities for the successful candidate to progress into the position of Head of Nursery at SportsCool Dartford, leading the development of our Early Years programme.
About SportsCool Dartford
SportsCool Dartford delivers fun, engaging and inclusive sports and activity sessions across primary schools, holiday camps and community settings.
As we continue to grow, we are now expanding into local nurseries to help children aged 2–5 years develop confidence, coordination and a lifelong love of physical activity through fun, structured play.
The Role
You'll deliver engaging Early Years activity sessions designed to develop:
- Balance and coordination
- Fundamental movement skills
- Teamwork and social interaction
- Confidence
- Listening and communication skills
- Enjoyment through active play
Initially, successful applicants will have the opportunity to work alongside one of our experienced SportsCool coaches within an existing primary school after-school club while our nursery programme is introduced.
As nursery partnerships are established, you'll become one of our lead Early Years coaches delivering sessions across local nursery settings.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and age-appropriate Early Years activity sessions.
- Create a safe, inclusive and enjoyable environment.
- Adapt activities for different ages and abilities.
- Set up and pack away equipment.
- Build positive relationships with nursery staff.
- Represent SportsCool Dartford professionally at all times.
- Maintain high safeguarding standards.
Essential Requirements
Applicants should:
- Hold a valid Enhanced DBS Certificate suitable for working with children.
- Have previous experience working with children within nurseries, schools, childcare or coaching.
- Be confident leading sessions independently.
- Have excellent communication skills.
- Be reliable, enthusiastic and professional.
- Be able to travel to venues across Bexley and Bromley.
Desirable
- Coaching qualifications.
- Early Years experience.
- Safeguarding training.
- Paediatric or Emergency First Aid qualification.
- Experience delivering multi-sports or physical activity sessions.

Recruitment Process
Our recruitment process is straightforward and designed to ensure both SportsCool and our coaches are the right fit for each other.
Stage 1

Stage 2
Successful applicants will be invited to a short telephone or video interview to discuss their experience, availability and suitability for the role.
Stage 3
Suitable candidates will then be invited to attend a practical coaching assessment during one of our SportsCool Holiday Camps.
The practical assessment will last approximately 30–40 minutes, where you'll lead an activity of your choice (for example football, dodgeball, multi-skills, cricket, Lego Workshop or another suitable activity). This allows us to observe how you engage with children, communicate and deliver an enjoyable session.
If both you and SportsCool Dartford feel the role is the right fit following the practical assessment, coaching opportunities will be confirmed ready for September.
