Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a Children’s Residential Home specialising in Emotional and Behavioral Difficulties (EBD). In this vital leadership role, you will support the management team in delivering high-quality care, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for children and young people. Your expertise in residential care for children with EBD will be instrumental in creating tailored care plans that promote well-being, development, and stability. Responsibilities
- Assist the Home Manager in coordinating all aspects of residential care for children with EBD, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organisational policies.
- Supervise and support care staff to deliver person-centered care that meets individual needs, including managing care plans and implementing therapeutic interventions.
- Oversee medication administration procedures, ensuring accuracy, safety, and adherence to legal requirements.
- Lead daily team meetings to promote effective communication, team cohesion, and continuous improvement in care delivery.
- Monitor the implementation of behavioral management strategies and ensure a consistent approach across staff members.
- Conduct regular assessments of children’s progress, updating care plans accordingly to support their emotional and developmental needs.
- Foster a positive environment that encourages teamwork, professional growth, and high standards of care within the home.
Requirements
- Proven experience working within assisted living environments or nursing homes, with a strong understanding of senior care, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, and medication management.
- Previous supervisory or supervising experience in a care home or similar setting is essential.
- Knowledge of creating and managing personalized care plans tailored to children with EBD or similar needs.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a multidisciplinary team effectively.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures, health & safety regulations, and legal frameworks related to child welfare.
- Excellent communication skills with an empathetic approach towards children and their families.
- Support children with emotional, behavioural, and social needs.
- Develop and review care plans and risk assessments.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and professionals.
- Participate in the on-call rota where required.
- Promote a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach to care.
- Promote safeguarding and ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations.

Essential Requirements
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (minimum)
- Previous experience working within an EBD Children's Residential Home
- Experience in a Senior or Deputy role is desirable
- Excellent safeguarding knowledge
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred
Pay: £34,500.00-£35,000.00 per year
