Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Wall and Floor Tiler to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing tiles on walls and floors, ensuring precision and quality in every project. Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, levelling, and applying necessary adhesives or primers before tiling
- Measure and mark out areas accurately using schematics and blueprints to ensure precise tile placement
- Cut tiles to fit edges, corners, and around fixtures using hand tools or power tools such as tile cutters and saws
- Lay tiles on floors and walls according to design specifications, maintaining consistent grout lines and alignment
- Apply grout, sealants, and finishing touches to ensure durability and aesthetic appeal
- Maintain a clean work environment by clearing debris and cleaning tools regularly during and after projects
- Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters or painters to coordinate project timelines and specifications
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times, including the safe handling of power tools and chemicals
Qualifications
- Proven experience in tiling, construction, or related trades is highly desirable
- Proficiency with hand tools such as trowels, chisels, levelers, as well as power tools including saws and drills
- Knowledge of schematics, blueprints, or technical drawings relevant to tiling projects
- Basic carpentry skills are advantageous for preparing surfaces or fitting fixtures before tiling
- Experience with construction painting can be beneficial for finishing work around tiled areas
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work accurately under deadlines
- Good organisational skills with the ability to interpret technical instructions effectively
- Relevant health and safety training or certifications are preferred but not mandatory
