Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Bench Joiner to join our dynamic construction and manufacturing team. As a Bench Joiner, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality wooden components and fixtures, contributing to various building projects, custom furniture, and bespoke joinery solutions. Your expertise will help bring architectural visions to life through precise fabrication, assembly, and finishing. Duties
- Fabricate custom joinery components using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery to meet project specifications
- Assemble wooden parts accurately, ensuring proper fit and finish for seamless integration into larger structures or furniture pieces
- Operate hand tools such as saws, chisels, planes, and drills safely and efficiently
- Use carpentry skills to cut, shape, and assemble timber for various construction applications including roofing, framing, and cabinetry
- Perform heavy lifting of materials and finished products while adhering to safety protocols
- Assist with construction painting, plumbing rough-ins, masonry work, or electrical installations as needed on site or in workshop settings
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are stored properly after use
Requirements
- Proven experience in fabrication, joinery, carpentry or related trades with a strong understanding of woodworking techniques
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in joinery and construction projects
- Knowledge of construction processes including roofing, masonry, plumbing, electrical work, and painting is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining precision in detailed work
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow technical drawings or project plans accurately
- Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude towards safety standards and quality assurance
- Relevant certifications or training in carpentry or joinery are preferred but not mandatory
