Providing high-quality, person-centred care to individuals receiving treatment on an acute inpatient mental health ward. Working under the supervision of registered nurses and other healthcare professionals, the post holder supports patients experiencing acute mental health difficulties, promoting recovery, dignity, safety, and wellbeing at all times.
The post holder will contribute to risk management and safeguarding processes, participate in patient observations and engagement activities, and work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to support the delivery of care plans and positive patient outcomes. They will uphold Trust values, maintain professional standards, and ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and legislation.
Provide compassionate care and support to patients experiencing acute mental health difficulties.
Assist with personal care, daily living activities, and promoting patient independence.
Observe and monitor patients' mental and physical wellbeing, reporting concerns promptly.
Support the delivery of therapeutic and recovery-focused activities.
Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic ward environment.
Work alongside registered nurses and the multidisciplinary team to deliver care plans.
Support risk management, safeguarding, and patient safety procedures.
Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, and carers.
Promote dignity, respect, equality, and person-centred care at all times.
Participate in mandatory training, supervision, and professional development.
