JOB TITLE: Finisher
MSA Foams is a bespoke manufacturer of foam components specialising in high-quality, custom solutions for diverse industrial and commercial applications.
At our manufacturing facility, we produce custom foam inserts for various vendors, which include Aerospace, Military, Automotive, Marketing and Engineering.
We are seeking a dedicated Finisher to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks across multiple disciplines, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Finishing
- Read the job traveller and drawings carefully to interpret requirements
- Check manufactured units against the job traveller and drawings
- Trim, laminate, chamfer, clean and heat-seal units as specified
- Where applicable, fit into containers/cases
- Complete tasks within the allocated timescales
- Record finishing times as requested
- Pass completed jobs to Despatch
Quality Assurance
- Ensure QA inspection is carried out by another team member
- Check that the QA stamp has been used to show that units have passed inspection
- Pack units in the correct packaging as per the customer’s specifications or, otherwise, MSA packing standards
- Ensure the correct quantity is dispatched, standardising on parts per box/pallet where possible, and identify accordingly
REQUIREMENTS
Our business is looking for an enthusiastic individual who is a great team player, with a can-do approach and good communication skills.
The ideal candidate will have experience within a manufacturing or production environment and be comfortable working with machinery and technical drawings. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, hands-on approach are essential. The ability to work independently, follow processes accurately, and communicate effectively with colleagues across departments is equally important.
Full training will be provided on all machinery and processes.
EXPERIENCE
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating production equipment, carrying out preparation and finishing tasks, maintaining production schedules, and ensuring compliance with company quality standards and health and safety procedures. You will be expected to identify and resolve production issues efficiently, helping to minimise downtime and maintain productivity.
Ability to commute/relocate:
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Dorset that requires attendance at our factory. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK, as we are unable to offer visa sponsorship. The successful candidate must be able to reliably commute to the workplace during standard UK business hours.
Relocation assistance is not available for this position, and knowledge of the local Dorset area and stakeholders would be a strong advantage.
