About the job:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will connect directly with the brilliant young person you work with, helping to make sure they get the very best from their education.
You will help prepare learning materials and deliver emotional and support learning interventions, with plenty of hands-on experience and some supervision too. You will take responsibility for supporting the young person’s social, emotional, physical and academic development, supporting them to develop as individuals and engage with the world.
You’ll work within a home-based environment, alongside a range of first-class specialists; play therapists, sensory occupational therapists, speech therapists, sports coaches, forest school leaders and tutors. You’ll be the link between professionals, and the go-to ‘safe person’ for the child.
You’ll be working alongside a small team of committed professionals, including some leading specialists. You’ll have lots of opportunities for further training and personal development. Pre-existing knowledge and experience is wonderful, but you’ll have opportunities for training in PACE, declarative language, demand avoidance,
Taking a responsive, playful and caring approach, you may be supporting activities, delivering interventions or supporting our student as they explore further afield beyond the home. You will be an educator in the truest sense of the word, with the autonomy to be part of a first-class, neuroaffirming package of education.

You’ll be great at taking the initiative in a playful, nurturing way, and you’ll have lots of autonomy in how you go about supporting the young person you’re working with. Above all, you'll have that magic dust that makes children and young people feel safe, engaged and connected.
We are looking for someone who shares many of the characteristics of our young person; kind, curious, enthusiastic, and empathetic, with a wonderful sense of humour. You’ll be a reflective, responsive practitioner, who has a deep commitment to neuroaffirmative practice, who places the well-being of children and young people at the heart of everything you do. You’ll be flexible and a superb communicator, and able to develop rapport with children, young people and professionals. You’ll also have the sort of leadership qualities and ‘magic essence’ about you that makes great things happen.
You will be great at taking the initiative to create and seize opportunities, but also enjoy working as part of a dedicated team, sharing knowledge, experience and learning. You'll be comfortable working within a home environment, and able to provide the flexibility and discretion that such a role requires.
You’ll have a minimum of A*-C (or equivalent) in English, Maths and a Science, as well as some level 3 qualifications. You will also have experience working with students with additional needs within an educational context. You’ll be a safe and confident driver, with a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
