Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Part Time Security Officer working Saturday & Sunday day shifts (1000hrs to 2000hrs) to join our existing team based at a School and Student Boarding Residence in Hertfordshire. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for the students, staff, visitors and premises. This position requires a proactive individual who is capable of responding to incidents, and is a good team player as you will be working alongside the schools maintenance & facilities teams, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Duties
- Monitor and patrol designated areas to prevent and detect signs of intrusion or suspicious activity. This can include mobile patrols (liveried vehicle supplied).
- Respond promptly to incidents, conducting thorough investigations as necessary.
- Ensure the safety of all personnel on site, students, staff and visitors.
- Implement loss prevention strategies to minimise theft and damage to property.
- Prepare detailed reports on incidents, observations, and activities during shifts.
- Maintain clear communication with team members and management regarding security issues.
- Work closely with the on site facilities teams to ensure a safe environment for resident students, staff, and authorised visitors.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a boarding residence is preferable, although full training will be provided to the right candidate.
- Previous experience in a security role is required (minimum 12 months)
- Clean Enhanced DBS Certificate (with Children's Barred List Checks completed). The company will apply for this.
- Valid UK Driving Licence required
- Knowledge of first aid practices is beneficial.
- Strong observational skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills (English), both verbal and written, for effective reporting and collaboration.
