Twinwheel Logistics Limited is family owned distribution & warehousing company in the UK based just of the M25 in West Thurrock. We're looking for an enthusiastic proactive, individual to join our team & supervise staff & run our night operation.
Overall Responsibility
To work in conjunction with line manager ensuring that all day-to-day tasks of the operation are carried out, to be proactive & contribute in sustaining and growing the business to achieve long-term success.
Appearance and Conduct
Expected to always conduct themselves in a professional manner. Dress in attire appropriate for role, upholding H&S legislation, and all warehouse regulatory requirements.
Daily Routines
Review daily operational requirements with line manager and organise staff accordingly with targets with a hands on approach.
Communicate daily plan and objectives with staff
Reporting Requirements
Advise line manager of staff performance and KPI’s goals.
Daily handovers to Transport Manager, Operations Manager & Line Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a Forklift
- Shunt Vehicles in Yard
- Co-ordinate and Issue staff workloads and ensure that all duties are carried in accordance with line manager’s request.
- Ensure operational KPI’s are met on a daily/weekly basis.
- Train/induct all warehouse staff.
- Take responsibility alongside the line manager to ensure the team and the operations are compliant and maintain the highest standards of safety and security.
- Ensure proper utilisation of Manual Handling Equipment.
- Ensure the maintenance of all equipment is up to date and all faults are reported using the correct documentation.
- Maintain appropriate supplies of warehouse sundries.
- Ensure that the security of the site is monitored and complied with as set out in company security policy.
- Ensure that the general appearance of the warehouse is kept in good order.
- Ensure compliance with all operating procedures.
- Ensure that staff’s performance and development issues are handled appropriately.
- Checking goods for missing or damaged items.
- Maintaining records of all goods on the TMS.
- Carrying out stock control on a regular basis.
- Monitor your team's performance throughout the shift, making choices to optimise service levels without overspending our budget.
- Onboarding, training and continuous development of a team of Warehouse Operatives.
- Strong record of process compliance.
Requirements
- Demonstrate ability to comprehend change management and be able to identify changes and focus areas for your team.
- Willing to accept responsibility for the long term, sustained performance improvement.
- Ability to work under pressure whilst managing multiple timed targets simultaneously.
- Strong ability to drive operation compliance to process.

- Proven experience of all aspects of people management including probationary, attendance, performance and disciplinary matters.
- A highly confident and proactive individual able to motivate and drive employees.
- PC literate including a good working knowledge of MS Packages.
- Maintaining Health and Safety standards in the workplace.
- Flexible approach to work to meet business requirements.
