Transport Manager
Full Time | Monday–Friday | 10 Hour Shifts
Working hours between 5:30am – 6:00pm
£35,000 – £40,000 DOE

We are currently recruiting for a proactive and hands-on Transport Manager to lead and oversee a busy transport operation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills, operational experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional service whilst driving efficiency and profitability.
The Role
As Transport Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the transport department, ensuring deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and on time. You will work closely with the Transport Planner and Warehouse teams to maintain smooth operations whilst ensuring compliance and cost control across the fleet.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the transport operation to ensure high service levels and on-time deliveries
- Support daily planning, routing, and vehicle allocation
- Drive route optimisation and cost-effective transport solutions
- Monitor delivery performance and resolve operational issues effectively
- Manage and develop the driving team to maintain high standards
- Oversee external transport providers and fleet performance
- Ensure compliance with transport legislation, tachographs, vehicle regulations, and health & safety requirements
- Manage vehicle servicing, MOTs, repairs, and maintenance schedules
- Coordinate driver holidays, training, and resource planning
- Maintain accurate transport and compliance records
- Work collaboratively with warehouse operations to ensure operational flow
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience within a Transport Manager or similar logistics role
- Strong understanding of transport compliance and legislation
- CPC Holder essential
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership and communication abilities
- Experience using transport management systems and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work within a fast-paced operational environment
- Proven ability to develop and motivate teams
