Thirsk Youth Club (TYC) is looking for Youth Worker In this role, working under the direction of the Lead Youth Worker, you will be delivering engaging activities to young people aged 9-18 in a welcoming, safe, inclusive environment and at the same time aiming to build good relationships with them to support their development.
You'll be working as part of a small team whilst developing your own youth work practice and skills.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about working with young people who wants to make a real difference to their lives and local community.
The role will directly:
1. Support the design, development and delivery of youth sessions
2. Undertake risk assessments, reviewing/recording of sessions, and action on
safeguarding issues
3. Develop TYC communications and promotion in conjunction with other staff members.
4. Explore SEN role opportunities within youthwork sessions
5. Engage in community conversations
7. Support and coordinate volunteers and youth work assistants.
8. Explore and implement: What does high-quality youth provision look like?
Explore how youth ‘safe spaces’ can be created to maximise the impact of
trauma-aware youth provision. Consider staff skills, design of building,
activities offered, outings/residentials etc
9. Develop a TYC Youth Volunteer program for our current 4 youth volunteers
(aged 15/16).
The role will also support the Trustees of TYC with developing the strategic vision and plan for TYC and in reporting progress to key partner agencies.
Pay: £19,600.00 per year
