We’re looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and confident dog lover to join our growing family-run business in West Byfleet.
The role is based at West Byfleet Dog Boarding & Daycare, so dogs will be a major part of your working day.
You'll help with the day-to-day care of our boarding and daycare dogs, welcome customers, create engaging social media content and support the administration and growth of the business.
You'll also provide social media and office support to our two other growing businesses:
- The French Bulldog Ltd
- Critchell Construction Ltd
This is not a traditional office job. You need to be genuinely comfortable working hands-on with dogs while also being organised, professional and confident using a computer and social media.
One moment you could be welcoming a dog for daycare, the next filming a Reel, updating customer records, answering an enquiry or helping with bookkeeping.
Dog Boarding & Daycare – A Major Part of the Role
You'll be involved in the daily operation of our dog boarding and daycare business.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Greeting owners and checking dogs in and out.
- Helping care for boarding and daycare dogs throughout the day.
- Supervising dogs and monitoring their behaviour and wellbeing.
- Assisting with feeding, play, enrichment and daily routines.
- Walking dogs when required.
- Keeping dog areas clean, organised and safe.
- Taking photographs and videos of the dogs.
- Updating owners and providing excellent customer service.
- Helping maintain accurate booking and dog-care records.
- Supporting the smooth and safe running of the daycare.
You Must Be Comfortable Around Dogs
We care for dogs of different breeds, sizes and personalities, so you must be confident and sensible around dogs.
Previous professional dog-care experience is an advantage, but the right attitude, confidence and willingness to learn are equally important.
A genuine love of dogs is absolutely essential.
Social Media & Content Creation
Social media is another major part of this position.
A lot of your content will naturally come from the dogs and the day-to-day activity at our boarding and daycare business.
You'll help manage Facebook and Instagram across our businesses.
This will include:
- Creating daily posts, Stories and Reels.
- Photographing and filming dogs throughout the day.
- Editing short-form videos.
- Creating fun and engaging dog-related content.
- Responding to comments and messages.
- Scheduling social media content.
- Creating graphics using Canva or similar software.
- Helping grow West Byfleet Dog Boarding & Daycare locally.
- Helping grow The French Bulldog brand and online sales.
- Occasionally creating content showcasing our construction projects.
- Developing ideas to increase engagement, followers and enquiries.
We're looking for someone who isn't afraid to pick up their phone, capture content and turn everyday moments into engaging social media.
Customer Service & Administration
You'll also help with the administrative side of the businesses, including:
- Answering phone calls, WhatsApp messages and emails.
- Responding quickly and professionally to customer enquiries.
- Managing dog bookings and customer records.
- Maintaining the daycare and boarding inbox.
- Keeping customer and dog information organised.
- Following up new enquiries.
- Helping manage The French Bulldog customer enquiries and orders.
- Contacting existing and potential trade customers and resellers.
- Keeping office systems organised.
- Supporting the directors with day-to-day administration.
Finance & Business Support – Training Provided
You don't need to be an experienced accountant.
We're looking for someone who is comfortable with numbers, organised and interested in developing their business and finance skills.
Full training will be provided.
Initially, you'll help with:
- Raising customer invoices.
- Recording payments.
- Processing supplier invoices.
- Basic bookkeeping.
- Reconciling bank accounts.
- Maintaining organised financial records.
- Assisting with basic HMRC and Companies House administration under supervision.
- Producing simple reports for the directors.
As your experience develops, there will be opportunities for additional training and greater responsibility.

- Comfortable using Microsoft Word and Excel.

- Keen to learn and take on more responsibility.
- Interested in growing with a young and ambitious business.
Experience working with dogs, kennels, daycare, boarding, veterinary practices, grooming, training or other animal-care environments would be a strong advantage.
