Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support our educational team. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and students to foster a positive learning environment, particularly supporting children with diverse needs. Duties
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and activities tailored to individual student needs.
- Support children with special educational requirements, including those with disabilities or autism, ensuring they can participate fully in classroom activities.
- Provide one-on-one tutoring and mentoring to students who require additional help, fostering their academic and social development.
- Help implement personalised learning plans and behavioural strategies under the guidance of teaching staff.
- Support creative writing exercises and other curriculum activities to encourage student expression and literacy skills.
- Monitor student behaviour and provide positive reinforcement to promote a respectful classroom environment.
- Assist with organising classroom materials, resources, and learning aids to ensure an organised learning space.
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to support student progress and well-being.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in educational or caregiving settings is essential.
- Knowledge of special education practices and experience working with individuals with disabilities or autism is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively support student learning and collaborate with staff.
- Creative writing experience is a plus for supporting literacy activities.
- Patience, empathy, organisation, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs are crucial qualities.
- A recognised qualification in education or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.
