Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Part-time Shop Assistant/Cashier to join our team. Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases in a professional manner
- Operate the cash register accurately, handling cash, card payments, and receipts
- Provide information about products and services, upselling where appropriate to enhance sales
- Maintain the organisation and presentation of merchandise on shelves and displays
- Answer customer queries via phone or in person with excellent phone etiquette
- Manage stock levels and assist with stock replenishment as needed
- Ensure the shop floor remains clean, tidy, and welcoming at all times
- Support organisational tasks such as inventory checks and merchandising displays
- Assist with general store operations to ensure smooth daily functioning
Experience
- Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish or other languages is a plus
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately
- Organised with good time management abilities to prioritise tasks effectively
- Ability to demonstrate organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills for engaging with customers
- Experience in upselling products or services to maximise sales opportunities is desirable
