Job summary:
Higham Ferrer's Surgery is a friendly, supportive, semi rural village practice with approximately 6,000 patients.
Main duties of the job:
We are currently looking to recruit a part time enthusiastic and motivated Receptionist/Admin to join our team on a part time contract, 25 hours per week.
This role is a 5 hour working day, applicants must be available to work between the hours of 8am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday.
About us:
The clinical team currently consists of 3 GP partners, 1 salaried GP, a Clinical Pharmacist, 5 Registrar's, 1 Nurse Practitioner, 1 staff nurse, and a health care assistant. We also have an experienced and supportive Management and Administrative team.
Job description/Job responsibilities:
- Reception Duties- Front of House. Taking Queries and answering the phones.
- Admin Duties- Coding, Recalling, Scanning as per the business needs
- Opening up/locking up of practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with practice protocols
- Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointments system
- Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations, and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional
- Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail
- Taking messages and passing on information
- Filing and retrieving paperwork
- Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines
- Computer data entry
- Ordering, re-ordering and monitoring of stationery and other supplies
- Summarizing patient notes
Person Specification/Experience Essential:
- Experience with working within a public facing role
Desirable:
- Ideally working within primary care, however not essential
Experience:
- Administration: 2 years (required)
- Customer Service: 2 years (required)
Language: English (required)
