Are you a qualified SEND teacher looking for flexible, rewarding work in your local community? C&G Education is seeking a dedicated Specialist Teacher to join our growing team across Sussex - delivering one-to-one vocational and employability education to young people aged 15-25 with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP).
This role is designed to fit around you. Work with students matched to you, set a timetable that suits your schedule, and build a caseload that works for your life, whether that means a handful of contracts alongside other commitments, or a fuller working week.
The Role
Each student contract involves 3 hours of direct, one-to-one in-person teaching per week, plus 1 hour of planning time which can be completed remotely from home. You will deliver sessions from your student's local community, using C&G Education's Skills for Working Life curriculum as your framework.
You are responsible for planning and delivering your own teaching sessions only. A separate remote teacher manages all planning for the Job Coach-led sessions, so your focus remains entirely on your own high-quality delivery.
Students are carefully matched to teachers based on proximity, timetable compatibility, personality, skill set, and shared interests — ensuring a good fit for both you and the young person you support.
Build your own caseload, on your terms
Every student is a self-contained contract. You choose how many you take on. Whether you want two or three contracts to complement existing work, or eight contracts for a full and rewarding week, the decision is entirely yours.
You have the flexibility to accept or decline individual contracts based on your availability. Days and hours are agreed with you at the start of each contract.
Why work with C&G Education?
- Work in your local area — students are matched to you by proximity, keeping travel minimal and manageable.
- Set your own timetable — days and hours are agreed with you at the start of each contract.
- Accept or decline contracts — you are never obliged to take on more than suits you.
- Plan from home — your 1 hour of planning per student is completed remotely, at a time that works for you.
- Plan for yourself only — a remote teacher manages all Job Coach session planning, so your preparation is focused and straightforward.
- Structured curriculum — our Skills for Working Life curriculum provides a clear, accessible framework so your energy goes into teaching, not building resources from scratch.
- Technology and resources — work laptop, mobile phone, and a weekly resources budget provided.
- Mileage reimbursement — £0.45 per mile for travel exceeding 30 miles.
- Collaborative team — work alongside Job Coaches and be supported by our Programme Lead
