Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. Duties
- Prepare and bake a variety of cakes, desserts, and other baked goods according to established recipes.
- Assist in the development of new dessert recipes and menu items that reflect current trends and customer preferences.
- Ensure all food preparation areas are clean, organised, and comply with food safety regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and ingredients, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods.
- Maintain equipment and tools used in the pastry section, ensuring they are in good working order.
- Adhere to portion control guidelines to minimise waste while maintaining quality standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or similar role within a restaurant or bakery setting.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary practices related to baking.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations within the kitchen environment.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
