About the Role:
Lisburn is well positioned to support trading, logistics and industrial supply operations across Northern Ireland and the wider United Kingdom, and at Traverse Global Trading and Logistics, we source products, equipment and services that keep complex supply chains moving.
We work with international suppliers, manufacturers and logistics partners across commodities, machinery parts and industrial products.
We believe that effective procurement should do more than secure the lowest price. It should protect quality, strengthen supplier relationships and ensure that the business receives dependable value throughout every contract.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Procurement Manager who can take ownership of strategic sourcing, supplier performance and commercial negotiations across our operations.
You will develop procurement strategies, manage major supplier agreements and work closely with commercial, logistics, finance and technical teams to meet operational requirements.
You are not simply placing purchase orders. You are assessing markets, identifying supply risks and building procurement solutions that support long term commercial performance.
You will also support Junior and Mid level procurement professionals, review purchasing activity and help maintain consistent standards across the organisation.
Why Work With Us?
The Environment:
Our Lisburn based team provides a professional and commercially focused environment where procurement professionals are trusted to negotiate effectively and take ownership of results.
Procurement Standards:
You will not need to convince us that supplier quality and commercial control matter.
We value transparent tendering, accurate cost analysis, reliable contracts and early action when supply risks are identified.
International Supply Network:
You will work with suppliers, manufacturers and logistics partners across different markets and product categories.
Commercial Impact:
Your procurement decisions will directly influence cost, quality, delivery performance, inventory availability and customer satisfaction.
Cross Functional Collaboration:
You will work closely with commercial managers, logistics teams, finance professionals, technical specialists and operational stakeholders throughout the procurement process.
Growth:
You will receive support for relevant professional qualifications, procurement training and continued development in strategic sourcing, supplier management and international trade.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Strategy:
Develop procurement strategies that support operational requirements, cost objectives and long term business priorities.
End to End Sourcing:
Manage the process from requirements assessment and supplier research through tendering, negotiation, contract award and performance review.
Supplier Selection:
Evaluate potential suppliers based on capability, quality, commercial value, financial stability and delivery performance.
Commercial Negotiation:
Lead negotiations covering pricing, payment terms, service levels, warranties, delivery schedules and contractual obligations.
Supplier Relationship Management:
Develop productive relationships with key suppliers while maintaining clear expectations and measurable performance standards.
Procurement Mentoring:
Support Junior and Mid level procurement professionals.
Review sourcing plans, tender documents and commercial recommendations while providing practical feedback that improves team capability.
Market Analysis:
Do not rely on assumptions.
Monitor pricing trends, supplier capacity, commodity movements and market conditions to support informed procurement decisions.
Contract Management:
Manage supplier contracts from award through renewal, amendment, completion or termination.
Cost Management:
Analyse quotations, total cost of ownership, freight charges, duties and other commercial factors before making purchasing recommendations.
Risk Management:
Identify supply continuity, quality, geopolitical, financial and logistics risks that could affect business operations.
Tender Management:
Prepare requests for quotation, requests for proposal and structured tender documentation for major purchasing requirements.
Stakeholder Management:
Present procurement recommendations and commercial findings to operational, financial and technical stakeholders.
You can explain why a supplier or sourcing strategy is appropriate, not simply communicate which option was selected.
Supplier Performance:
Establish key performance indicators and conduct regular reviews covering quality, cost, delivery and service.
Compliance:
Ensure procurement activity follows company procedures, contractual requirements and applicable trade, sanctions and ethical sourcing standards.
Inventory Coordination:
Work with planning and logistics teams to align purchasing decisions with stock requirements, lead times and forecast demand.
Reporting:
Prepare clear reports covering cost savings, supplier performance, procurement risks, contract status and upcoming sourcing activity.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience:
At least 6 years of procurement, purchasing or strategic sourcing experience, including responsibility for major supplier agreements and complex commercial negotiations.
Qualifications:
A degree or recognised professional qualification in procurement, supply chain management, business, logistics or a related discipline is preferred.
Professional Membership:
Membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply or progress towards professional certification is desirable.
Strategic Sourcing:
Strong experience developing sourcing strategies, evaluating suppliers and managing competitive tender processes.
Commercial Knowledge:
Strong understanding of pricing structures, contracts, payment terms, total cost of ownership and supplier negotiations.
International Procurement:
Previous experience sourcing products, machinery parts, industrial equipment or commodities from international suppliers is preferred.
Supplier Management:
You can establish performance standards, resolve supplier issues and maintain productive commercial relationships.
Risk Awareness:
You understand how market changes, transport disruption, supplier failure and regulatory requirements can affect procurement activity.
Data Analysis:
You can interpret supplier quotations, purchasing data, cost trends and performance reports to support commercial decisions.
Leadership Skills:
Previous experience coordinating procurement activity and supporting less experienced purchasing professionals is preferred.
Communication Skills:
Strong professional English is required for supplier negotiations, contract correspondence, tender documents and stakeholder presentations.
Technical Skills:
Confident using procurement, enterprise resource planning and reporting systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Coupa or similar platforms.
Mindset:
You are commercially aware, analytical and dependable.
You know when to challenge an unsupported price increase, when to develop an alternative supplier and when a reliable long term agreement offers greater value than a short term saving.
Pay: £4,250.00-£5,000.00 per month
Benefits:
- Free parking
- On-site parking
- Private medical insurance
Work Location: In person
